Dear, Tim!

То my mind, the primary and secondary educational system fulfills the main purpose of it. Thousands of pupils finish schools with good results every year and many of them enter higher educational establishments to continue studying.

Due to the knowledge we get, while studying, people become skillful specialists in different spheres and contribute effectively to the development of their country and society.

That’s why I always enjoy my lessons. Most of all I like English. I remember my first teacher who fostered interest to all subjects. She advised us to read more. Write me soon.

Love, Tania

My name is Natasha. I’m 14 years old. I’m in the 8th grade. I study at gymnasium school number 1. My school is the best. My school is a four-storied building. Pupils of secondary school study on the ground floor. There is a big gym in our school. Our physical training lessons and different sport competitions are held there. We celebrate holidays in assembly hall. All classrooms of our school are light and spacious. Teachers who work in our school are good. Each of them teaches well and their lessons are quite interesting. I and all my classmates often go to the cinema, theatre, museums and exhibitions. I like my school very much.

The educational system of Great Britain is extremely complex. It is very difficult to generalize particular types of schools as schools differ from one to the other. The department of education and science irresponsible for national educational policy, but it doesn’t employ teacher or prescribe curricula or text books.

Each school has its own board of governors consisting of teachers, parents, and local politicians, members of local community, businessmen and sometimes pupils. According to the law only one subject is compulsory. It is religious instruction.

Schooling for children is compulsory from 5 to 16, though some provision is made for children under 5 and some pupils remain at school after 16 to prepare for higher education.
